There’s something magical about the 1930s – the quiet clatter of typewriter keys, the soft glow of lamplight, the gentle hum of village life where everyone knows everyone … and where secrets still manage to hide in plain sight.
It’s that world I’ve fallen in love with, and the world I’m bringing to life in my debut cozy mystery.
This blog will follow the journey from first draft to finished book: the research rabbit holes, the character quirks, the tiny clues that appear when I least expect them, and the joy (and occasional chaos) of writing a mystery set nearly a century ago.
I’ll be sharing:
- Glimpses into my fictional villages and it’s residents
- The inspirations behind my sleuth and suspects
- The 1930s details that make the ear so irresistible
- Updates as my debut novel takes shape
If you enjoy warm whodunits, vintage charm and a touch of gentle intrigue, I’m so glad you’re here. The kettle’s on, the notebook is open, and the adventure begins.
